For the first time in the history of the Tour of Estonia the finish was in Tartu at Toomemäe hill. Karl Patrick Lauk, who rides in the National Team of Estonia, was the first one to cross the finish line at the end of the cobblestone climb of Lossi Street with the time of 4:07.36. Marceli Boguslawski (Mazowsze Serce Polski) finished second (+0.07), followed by Polychronis Tzortzakis (Kuwait Pro Cycling Team) from Greece (+0.08).

According to the winner, there was no direct plan about the finish in Tartu. "In the end, it could have been nice if Martin Laas would be in the front, but it went a little differently," he explained.

"Obviously it was good to win, but at the same time most of the work was done by Oskar Nisu in the end and I just had to be the first one crossing the finish line. In fact, I wasn't very sure of myself, but I tried to get those thoughts out of my head and focus on the things I have to do – take the victory," said Lauk.

Tomorrow, the riders have to take the cobblestone climb of Lossi Street 16 times. "This cobblestone climb is really hard, but I don’t want to talk about tomorrow yet. I will sleep well and see what orders are given tomorrow and we try to come up with the best war plan," talked Lauk about tomorrow's plans.

Karl Patrick Lauk will go to the Tartu Grand Prix stage tomorrow (162.4 km) in a yellow leader's shirt, but he also got the best sprinter’s green shirt. Marceli Boguslawski from Poland got the mountain king’s  shirt (red) and Antti Jussi Juntunen from Finland (Ampler Development Team) got the best young rider’s shirt (white). In the team competition, the tour is led by the Estonian team.
