„The race was very hard, we just came from altitude but I would like to thank my team. They helped me to a good position in the end,“ said todays winner Maikin.
The stage ended with a group finish where Maikin was the fastest. Overall winner Stepniak was fourth today but because of first intermediate sprint win he managed to get bonus seconds and keep the overall first place.
„The team worked perfectly today and very big thanks to them,“ said Stepniak. CCC was in front of the peloton constantly and controlled the race from start to finish. Rusvelo tried to suprise them in the intermediate sprints but failed. But Maikin managed to get overall second place thanks to the win of second stage. Best Estonian rider was Mihkel Räim who finised 10th today and was overall 3rd.
Estonian Cycling weekend ends tomorrow with 35th Tartu Rattaralli where close to 3900 riders start together with professional riders on a 135km journey in the South-Estonia.
