Tour of Estonia starts on the last weekend of MayOn May 24th, the Tour of Estonia will start with two stages. 17 teams are on the starting list, including the Norwegian pro team Uno-X Mobility. The first stage takes place on the Tallinn-Tartu route (192.6 km) and the riders finish on the hill of Lossi street in Tartu, the second stage takes place on the city circles in Tartu (164.8 km). Cyclists have to ride Vanemuise and Lossi hill 16 times.
The race director Indrek Kelk says that it’s very good that the Norwegian pro team Uno-X Mobility will come to the Tour of Estonia. "This is a great compliment to the organizing team and shows the quality of the event. For example, the team has received an invitation to the prestigious Tour de France for the second year in a row, and that already speaks for itself," he states.
Rasmus Bøgh Wallin, who won the Tartu Grand Prix stage and also the Tour of Estonia last year, is on the start list of the Uno X-Mobility team.
The Estonian team will also start, with multiple Tour of Estonia winners Karl Patrick Lauk and Gert Jõeäär. Norman Vahtra, who won the Tartu Grand Prix stage in 2022 and took second place in the tour in the same year, is also coming to the start.
"I believe that both stages will be exciting. Recent years have shown that the icing on the cake of the Tallinn-Tartu stage, i.e. the ascent of Lossi Street, mixes the cards quite well. Also, the Tartu stage with its 16 city circuits is a good test for riders and it is definitely worth coming," states Kelk.
In addition to the Tour of Estonia, the Ladies Tour of Estonia (104.2 km) will start on May 25th. On Sunday, May 26th, all cycling enthusiasts can participate in the 43rd Tartu Rattaralli. |
