The first stage of the Tour of Estonia, Tallinn–Tartu, was won by Latvian Martinš Pluto (Energus Cycling Team), who was faster than Polish Marceli Boguslawski (ATT Investments) and Romet Pajur (Estonian national team).

Today's 203 km race lasted a total of 4 hours and 45 minutes, and among the Estonians in the top ten were also Rait Ärm (Energus Cycling Team), who finished sixth, and Karl Kurits (Lucky Sport Cycling Team), who crossed the finish line eighth.

Today's stage winner Pluto was 6th in yesterday's prologue, and this also meant that after today's stage win, he became the new leader of the tour. After today, Polish Marceli Boguslawski (ATT Investments) is second in the overall standings, and Romet Pajur (Estonian national team) is third.

According to stage winner Pluto, today's race was rather easy, but the final finish climb was difficult. “The finish was still very difficult, but I won and I am incredibly happy,” he explains.

Pluto added that yesterday’s prologue was also something special for him, as he has not competed on a track for almost 20 years. “Tomorrow, we just have to give it our all with the team to defend the yellow jersey and take it home with us,” Pluto admits.
